We’re happy to invite you for an evening with two leading botany experts, flora lovers and conservation enthusiasts!

Leif Bersweden is author of The Orchid Hunter and Where the Wild Flowers Grow (longlisted for the James Cropper Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing, 2023). A BBC Summerwatch contributor, Leif’s Where the Wild Flowers Grow tells of his travels the length and breadth of Britain and Ireland in an attempt to understand the rich diversity of these islands’ amazing flora.

Ben Jacob is author of The Orchid Outlaw (longlisted for the James Cropper Wainwright Prize for Conservation Writing 2023), a gripping and inspirational true story of a man risking prison to rescue Britain’s orchid species. An irresistible mix of memoir and nature writing it sheds light on some of the nation’s most enigmatic plants and the failure of our laws to protect them.

Leif and Ben invite you to join them for a lively conversation about plants, writing, conservation and the environment. Their books will be available to get signed. Ticket price will be taken off the total of any book purchases made at the event.
