About our cause: The Organisation for Sickle Cell Anaemia Research (OSCAR) Bristol – Registered charity number 1017124, offers support to families and those affected by Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia living in the Bristol region, as well as educating and raising awareness of the condition.
It is estimated that there are between 12,500 and 15,000 people with sickle cell disease in the UK. We therefore encourage people to be tested for Sickle Cell at any time and new born babies are now offered tests for Sickle Cell. If you would like more information please contact us.
