Rockaway Cider Festival with Skimmity Hitchers, Monkey Bizzle & Surfin’ Turnips

22 April @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

£12

Rockaway’s first Cider Fest will have a scrumptious range of locally brewed nectars, including the launch of our very own Rockaway cider! We’ve teamed up with the lovely people from Fuelled By Cider, who organise InCider and OutCider Fest, which means three top-notch bands are performing.

The Skimmity Hitchers roam the full girth of the West Country and beyond, bringing their dry and fruity blend of Scrumpy & Western music to venues, festivals and fairs. These scrumpy swillin’ reprobates appeal to young and old, folkies to cider punks, beardy badgers to shifty blaggers with a blend of razor sharp parodies, original material, a raucous stage show, spontaneous audience interaction, cheeky banter and general cider shenanigans.

Five-piece hip hop/reggae band, Monkey Bizzle, hail from the depths of Somerset and conjure up sounds that will get you dancing from Nebraska to Norton. Think dysfunctional simian offspring of The Wurzels & Goldie Looking Chain, accompanied with live scratching, big beats and belly laughs.

Plus, legendary Bristolian cider-punks the Surfin’ Turnips will rise from the orchard floor once more brandishing their stirring apple anthems and gurt fine marrows. They’ll be spreading the Word Of The West to you lost souls in need of apple salvation.

The Vegan Cafe will be serving hot food, savoury snacks and cakes, plus hot and cold drinks, and there will be plenty of goodies to sample in our cider tent and arts market!

So, if you fancy a night of cider-fuelled fun, please visit Our Events page for all the details, including how to book.
