Seasoning: Yushh, Berwick, Calaida, Jakobin, Ansatze B2B spr1ng br34ka

24 March @ 10:00 pm - 25 March @ 3:00 am

£6

From 140-170, we’re bringing the future of UK Rave to Bristol. After multiple sell-out shows unifying holographic projections and custom-built lighting installations with the sounds pushed by DJs on dance music’s cutting edge, we champion the sounds pulling from jungle breaks, acid, electro, dubstep, and techno –

Yushh – from 4×4 to IDM and bass music at large, Yushh has cut out a distinctive sound drawing heavily on her Bristol influences to build a dark, intense, and bass-forward style. Seasoning will be hosting Yushh at her best, focusing on building an intensity met with a psychedelic light and hologram show. Expect hard and fast beats with unforgiving intensity.

Berwick – After multiple high-profile releases with London, Berlin, and US-based labels and holding down The Cause, MOT, a *certain* bathroom (tba), and other revered dancefloors of the new wave of dance music, Berwick is stitching up the low-end of his catalogue to give the ol’ foundations a good wobble. Electro, techno, breaks bass, and those tasty bits beyond – buckle up for this one.

Calaida – The homecoming show of a DJ whose mark of high-energy, bouncy sets across the full range of London’s underground sketches the profile of a virtuoso from Jazz to bass music billing on the BoatPod, ‘And What LDN’, and We Out Here promises to take us through her unique world of bass music.

????? (surprise announcement)

ansatze b2b spr1ng br34ka – ansatze’s Edinburgh-based percs, IDM, and hardcore emanating cut large against Aussie legend, spr1ng br34ka’s Steel City Discs inspired sound. This duo has been working on a joint show for the past three months and we’re delighted to host their debut at The Island for a meeting of North and South for the history books.

This is set to be our statement show, where we dive deep into the roots of Hardcore, taking inspiration from Simon Reynolds’s iconic series republished in WIRE magazine at the ‘Hardcore Continuum’ to pull on the strings of dance music history and imagine new forms of interesting, melting identities of crowds into the overwhelming bounce of hot pumping dancefloors. Come and tell the story with us.
